On Sunday, Oct. 19, former MIT diving sensation Doria M. Holbrook ’08 was honored as a semifinalist for the 2008 NCAA Woman of the Year award. Unquestionably the greatest diver in the history of the MIT program, Holbrook’s selection as a semifinalist capped an amazing career highlighted by numerous records and individual achievements.

GAME OF THE WEEK MIT Football Overpowers WNEC 48-15 in NEFC Conference Game
DeRon M. Brown ’10 and Robert C. Utz ’09 combined for 351 yards on the ground as MIT unleashed a nearly unstoppable rushing attack en route to a 48-15 victory over Western New England College in a New England Football Conference Boyd Division battle on Saturday. Brown paced a running game that totaled 435 yards with 207 yards and four touchdowns on 25 carries.

National Lacrosse League to Expand In Boston
Starting in January of 2009, the city of Boston will once again host a professional indoor lacrosse team, the Boston Blazers, after eleven years without a professional indoor program.
